Klima X
18.2.2012-27.1.2013
Klima X is an exhibition about climate change and life in a world that is growing ever warmer. Before entering the exhibition, visitors put on Klima X rubber boots to be able to wade through the water and melting ice in the exhibition hall. Klima X offers an unforgettable, multisensory experience.
The climate is also changing in response to human activities. The consequences of change are greater the longer we allow the change to proceed. This is why we need to control the change. We cannot stop the process completely, so we must also learn to adapt to its impacts.
Klima X is based on the concept developed by Codesign Sweden and the Norwegian Museum of Science, Technology and Medicine in Oslo. In 2009, Klima X was elected as the Best Nordic Exhibition and it received the international Roy L. Shafer Leading Edge Award for the best visitor experience.
The contents of the Klima X exhibition have been designed in collaboration with Finnish climate experts. The “Me and Climate Change” section has been produced jointly with WWF Finland. The section showcases those actions that have the greatest effect on Finland’s carbon footprint. Nine pop culture figures share on video what actions they have taken to have an impact on climate change.
