Kaluoka´hina - an animated film telling a story of a tropical reef

Kaluoka’hina – The Enchanted Reef is a humorous adventure story, which also provides abundant information about life on the coral reef.
In addition to being entertaining and exciting, the film also provides informative details about reefs and the life around them, tides, underwater volcanoes and seaweed forests, as well as ways in which life adapts to survive in these unique conditions.
Kaluoka’hina – The Enchanted Reef is meant to be shown using next generation planetarium technology, which is currently in use at Vattenfall Planetarium. The film was the first 360° Dome Projection Formatted family film, and it placed at the top of its series for digital production in the Animago Competition in 2005.

Jake and Shorty, live within the enchanted Kaluoka’hina reef, which human beings cannot find. When a volcanic eruption threatens to break the spell, the friends set out on a mission to prevent the destruction of the reef. |

Along the way, Jake and Shorty run into many interesting characters and tales within the depths of this exciting underwater world.
