Our traditional H18: Halloween takes place on November 1st 2024 between 19–24. The event is aimed at adults only.

Pre-Party

  • The Science Restaurant's Pre-Party

    Book your place in advance at The Science Restaurant's pre-party and ensure entry to the event among the first!

    From 6 p.m. onwards The Science Restaurant serves pre-ordered nachos and drinks. In addition to food, there will also be music and a good atmosphere.

    Buy the treats you want for the pre-party here . There is a limited quantity of places at the pre-party.

  • Subway-blind horror show

    Experience Teatteri Tuike's blind horror show "Metro" at Heureka's Halloween! This isn't just a show. This is an invitation to step into the darkness where no one can hear your cry. The metro takes you deep into the unknown, and there is no turning back. Your senses become clouded, your mind begins to waver - and then it strikes. The show is held in Finnish.


    • Blind horror shows are a paid additional program . If you want to see the show, you need to buy the H18 event ticket and the ticket for the blind horror show separately.

    • There is a limited number of places for blind horror shows. One show can accommodate a total of 40 people.



    Two types of tickets are on sale.

    • HC 33€ (for those who are not afraid of anything. Or who dare to take the risk that they might be touched...)
    • For someone who's scared €27 (for those who want to be scared without the risk of being touched)


    Performance times: 18:00 and 20:00 (you must be there 15 minutes before the start of the performance.)
    Total duration of the show: 1h 20 min

Aerial acrobatics

See the aerial acrobatic artists of TipTop Walkers and be amazed by what they do.

Roller Derby Disco

Lights, speed and music! Kallio Rolling Rainbow brings roller skates and other necessary equipment - just bring a good feeling with you!


  • Skating time about 15 min.

  • 30 skaters at once.


Note! Your safety is of the utmost importance to us and we will take care of you. Alcohol can be consumed before participating in roller skating, but the staff will evaluate at the last minute whether you are able to participate in the workshop.

Tuli kuuma -science theater

"Tuli kuuma" (fire hot) is a fast-paced science show combining fire-related music and combustion reactions, where the performers focus on safe fire-making and let the music do the talking. Duration approx. 20 min.

Heavy Metal to Halloween!

For example, in Led Zeppelin's song Whole Lotta Love, you can hear the great sound of the theremin. Come and test how good of a soloist you are with the theremin and at the same time take part in a raffle where you can win tickets to next summer's Tuska festival.

At the Tuska point, you can also participate in the ticket draw without playing the theremin.
This programme is organised in cooperation with Tuska.

  • Balloon workshop

    In the laboratory, science is done with the help of balloons.

  • Superconducting maglev train

    Experience a supernatural experience with the superconducting magnetic levitation train! It combines cutting-edge technology and spine-chilling horrors. Using modern physics, the magical movement of a hovering train takes you on an adventure where gravity seems to have disappeared and ghosts lurk around every corner.

Shrink your nightmares!

Defeat your nightmare by shrinking it! Shrinkable plastic is shrink-wrapped in the workshop. From the end result, you can craft, for example, a key chain or jewelry.

Fascinating lectures

Immerse yourself in our fascinating lectures, in your own peace with headphones on, in the middle of the event. The lectures are presented from the Event Market stage.

  • The history of tattoos

    Tattoos are popular these days. However, most people do not know that it is the fairground and carnival culture that play a significant part in the history of tattoos.

    All-over tattooed, heavily pierced performers have been around for over 100 years!

    The stand displays tattoo industry objects and movables from the carnival world; Decades ago
    ...and of course stories.

    The lecturer is Janne Penttinen, a tattoo artist.

  • Finnish folklore from the dark side of the rainbow

    The lecture presents the most horrifying aspects of Finnish folklore, the traditional Finnish "kekri" concept as an equivalent to American Halloween, and shows the long roots of Finnish horror without forgetting the rainbow.

    The lecturer is Rimma Erkko, who is a doctoral researcher in literary science, writer and illustrator, who thinks there is magic in nightmares. As a writer, he specializes especially in rainbow horror.

  • Clowns of Horror

    Clowns are dual characters. They can be harmless pranksters suitable for children's parties or they can be sharp-toothed beasts lurking in the shadows. The lecture introduces the dark side of clowns and examines how and why they become objects of horror.

    Marianna Keisalo has studied clowns and comic performances for a long time and is also familiar with monster anthropology.

    The lecturer is Marianna Keisalo, anthropologist and university lecturer and docent of social and cultural anthropology at the University of Helsinki.

At the Party Bugs point, you can become part of the insect food revolution! You get to taste crickets and you can also buy products for yourself.

Photo Booth

Dressing according to the theme is not mandatory - but recommended! Please also go and take pictures of your awesome Halloween costume at the photo booth. This way we all get to enjoy the evening's costume splendor on Heureka's screens, where pictures are shown.

The Science Restaurant is open throughout the event

Drinks and snacks are available throughout the evening. Please note that only card payment is accepted.
