"The depression room woke similar feelings in me as when talking with a patient suffering from depression. The atmosphere and the perspectives of the different family members created a very true picture of the illness."

Leena Repokari, Director of Child Psychiatry, HUS (The Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa)

  • Heureka Goes Crazy is the first-ever science centre exhibition on mental health. This exhibition aims to dispel prejudices associated with mental health problems and to encourage people to take care of their own well-being.

Mental health is about finding the courage to lead a rich, meaningful life despite our own weaknesses. In the exhibition, visitors can test simulations of mental disorders and feed their troubles into the worry shredder. They can take part in touching and comforting accounts of people suffering from mental health disorders. The exhibition encourages visitors to fool around and surprise themselves, and take care of their own mental health. Some of the exhibits have been designed especially
    for children.

Interactive exhibits combined with photos and works of art explore a subject that touches people both on a personal and a social level.

Scientists as well as people with their own experiences of mental disorders have contributed their experience and expertise. Visitors will laugh and cry, while learning to understand themselves and others
    better.

Heureka, the Finnish Science Centre, in co-operation with Ciência Viva, Lisbon, and Universcience, Paris.
