Projects that develop learning

Heureka is involved in both national and international projects that develop learning and teaching. With the needs of future working life and multidisciplinary skills in mind, the projects create models and methods for teaching and learning broad-based skills, future skills and a phenomenon-oriented approach.

In addition, Heureka represents Finland in ESA's Advisory Board on Education.

Generation AI

The Generation AI project (2026–2028) will study and lay the foundation for technology education that takes into account the operating principles and opportunities of artificial intelligence. It will also critically examine the risks and shortcomings associated with the use of artificial intelligence.

The project brings together technology developers, schools, authorities, companies and non-governmental organizations. It strengthens the ability of children and young people to face the global societal impacts of technology and produces pedagogical tools for teachers to use for the transformation of learning.

At Heureka, the project is visible in teacher events, the annual Robotics Weeks for schoolchildren in the autumn, family days and learning materials.

The project is funded by the Strategic Research Council under the Academy of Finland, and its consortium partners include, in addition to Heureka, the University of Eastern Finland, the University of Oulu, the University of Helsinki, the Finnish Code School and the Joensuu Science Society.
