Heureka x Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (STUK)
The Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (STUK) and Heureka have been collaborating since 2023, mainly on the Our Journey in Space exhibition. The aim of the collaboration was to inform the public about radiation and the importance of radiation safety through the space theme, and to increase STUK’s awareness among the general public through Heureka’s memorable experiences. Both organisations want to offer the public opportunities to get excited about science, so the collaboration seemed natural.
Through the collaboration, STUK was able to bring its own perspective to the design of the space exhibition, participated in the side event offered by Heureka, and has increased its own awareness within the framework of the collaboration. STUK's support also enables visits to Heureka by numerous science and mathematics-focused school classes in the Uusimaa region.
“The collaboration has been smooth and pleasant. We met with the people at Heureka several times during the planning phase of the space exhibition. The people at Heureka are enthusiastic experts full of ideas. In addition to the space exhibition, we were able to hold a workshop related to the sun's ultraviolet radiation at Heureka's Family Day in November 2024. Workshop attendees were able to make their own bracelet from UV beads that changed color in UV light. Our workshop was so popular that the beads almost ran out,” recalls communications expert Melissa Rask from STUK.
