H18: Après-ski
Wouldn't sound great to spend Valentine's Day in an après-ski atmosphere? Put on your best après-ski clothes, grab a mint hot chocolate from the Science Restaurant and come enjoy a fun evening. H18: The après-ski science event will be held on Saturday 14.2.2026 from 7pm–12am at Heureka.
The event is K18. Heureka will be a drinking area during the event.
The evening workshops will be held in Finnish and English. The lecture sections will be held in Finnish.

Note! Museum cards, Heureka Club annual cards, Kaiku cards, press cards or Heureka free tickets are not accepted as payment for the event. Cultural benefits cannot be used to pay in the online store.

Skating on artificial ice
Is skating on artificial ice at Heureka on your bucket list? If not, now is the time to write it down, since you can achieve this goal at the event!
Bring your own skates and for safety reasons we also recommend a helmet. Welcome to skate in the middle of science!
Please note: Your safety is of utmost importance to us and we will take care of you. Alcohol is allowed before participating in the ice skating, but the staff will ultimately assess whether you are able to participate in the workshop.

Get a picture of yourself in a ski lift
Come and take your picture taken in a ski lift alone, in pairs or with a larger group. Put on your best après-ski gear and capture a fun Valentine's Day photo taken by a professional!

Experience Heureka's renewed planetarium
The planetarium has undergone the biggest transformation in its history. Its interior, projection dome and presentation technology have been renewed to meet today's expectations and standards. Heureka's planetarium is now one of the brightest, most colorful and detailed presentation environments in Europe.
At the event, you can see a planetarium film called Recombination , a work by Dutch fractal artist Julius Horsthuis. The film immerses you in the fascinating world of fractals, accompanied by music.
Note! Please remember to reserve your seat for the planetarium film by scanning the QR code on the information screen in front of the planetarium.

Drunken orienteering
Can you find your way back to your hotel room after a few pints or a mint hot chocolate? Test your drunken skills with 2.6–3.5 per mille simulation glasses.

Party band
The après-ski party atmosphere is enhanced by a party band performing well-known hits that will get even the shyest of dancers moving.

Chocolate meditation
Chocolate brightens up even the coldest winter day. Sit down, taste a delicious piece of chocolate and take part in a relaxing après-ski meditation.
One chocolate meditation lasts an unspecified amount of time and the meditation's are organized throughout the evening. At the Science on a Sphere site.

Instant space ice cream
Freeze-drying ice cream is time-consuming, but you can achieve a similar taste experience much easier. Try making instant space ice cream in the microwave!
Note! The treat you will make in the workshop contains eggs.

You've never experienced a lecture like this at Heureka! Party doctor Antti Maunu has been researching things such as partying habits, partying, and alcohol consumption - all relevent in the après-ski culture.

Learn about rescue dogs
During the lecture, you will learn about rescue dog activities and will be able to observe the skills of rescue dogs in practice.
The Finnish Rescue Dog Association will organize a lecture and demonstration.The time and place will be confirmed later.

The Science Restaurant is open throughout the event
The Science Restaurant's menu includes a mint cocoa bar and small bubble waffles to celebrate the après-ski atmosphere.
During the evening, other drinks and snacks will also be available at the Science Restaurant and at the refreshment points. Please note that the refreshment points only accept card payments.
