Terms of Participation for Sellers at NOX: Economy (18+)

    1. The event

The NOX evening for adults, with the theme of economy, will take place on Friday 11 December 2026 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Heureka, the Finnish Science Centre.

The theme of the event is the economy. As part of the event, sellers selected through the application process will have the opportunity to sell their products and tell visitors about how the price of their product is formed.

    2. Application and participation

You can apply to become a seller by completing the application form on the NOX event page. The application period is open until 2 p.m. on 10 November 2026 or until all places have been filled.

Applications will be processed in the order in which they are received. The number of sales tables is limited. The organiser reserves the right to accept or reject an application based on the overall concept of the event, the available space, the programme or another justified reason.

The applicant will be notified within 7 days of submitting the application whether a sales table can be offered to them at the event.

Submitting an application does not guarantee a sales place at the event. Participation is confirmed once the organiser has informed the seller that a sales place is available and the seller has accepted the place.

Selected sellers (hereinafter referred to as “sellers”) will be provided with their own sales space at the event. The size and equipment of the sales space will be communicated to the seller before the event. The sales table and participation are free of charge for the seller (1 person).

The seller must follow the instructions provided by the organiser and is responsible for their own sales space during the event.

Sales places are personal to the individual or company and may not be transferred to another person or company without the organiser’s prior consent.

    3. Products

The following products may not be sold at the event:

    • alcohol, tobacco or nicotine products, snuff or other intoxicants
    • weapons or other items considered dangerous
    • hazardous, highly flammable or otherwise potentially dangerous substances or products
    • products that use the logos, trademarks or other identifiers of other companies or brands without permission.

Resale is permitted at the event. Products for sale must originate from a manufacturer or supplier whose product origin can be appropriately verified. The event does not accept the resale of, for example, dropshipping products or mass-produced consumer products purchased from international marketplaces.

The seller is responsible for ensuring that the products they sell are appropriate and comply with all applicable legal requirements.

The products for sale must correspond to the information provided in the application.

The organiser reserves the right to restrict the sale of individual products or product categories if this is necessary for the overall concept of the event, safety or another justified reason.

    4. Sales and payments

The seller is responsible for selling their products, pricing, receiving payments and providing any equipment needed for sales, unless otherwise agreed with the organiser.

The seller is responsible for any other costs arising from their participation, such as transporting products to and from the event venue.

The seller is also responsible for any taxes, notifications, permits and other statutory obligations related to their sales activities.

The seller is responsible for providing consumers with the information required in connection with sales, issuing receipts and fulfilling consumer-related obligations concerning their products. The seller is also responsible for any defects in their products and for handling the obligations arising from such defects.

The organiser is not responsible for the seller’s sales or sales revenue.

    5. Explaining the price and cost structure of a product

An important part of the event is exploring the price and value of products for sale.

Sellers are asked to tell visitors about the material costs of a product of their choice, the time spent making it, other costs associated with the product and how its selling price is formed.

The seller decides for themselves which information about their company or product costs they wish to share.

The purpose is not to require sellers to disclose confidential business information, such as turnover, profit or other trade secrets.

The seller agrees to provide the organiser with sufficient information to enable the agreed content of the event to be carried out.

    6. Seller’s responsibilities at the event

The seller is responsible for keeping their sales space tidy and safe during the event.

The seller is responsible for their own products, belongings and personal equipment during the event.

The seller is responsible for setting up and dismantling their sales space according to the schedule provided by the organiser.

The seller is responsible for bringing any additional supplies, furniture or other equipment they need at their sales space, unless otherwise agreed with the organiser. The use of electrical equipment must be agreed with the organiser in advance.

At the end of the event, the seller must leave the sales space clean and in appropriate condition.

    7. Damage and insurance

The seller is responsible for their own activities and for any damage they may cause.

The seller is responsible for obtaining any insurance they may need.

The organiser is not responsible for the loss, damage or theft of the seller’s products, belongings or equipment, unless the damage is caused by the organiser’s intentional or negligent conduct.

    8. Cancellations

The seller must notify the organiser of any cancellation as soon as possible.

The organiser reserves the right to cancel the seller’s participation if the seller fails to comply with these terms or with the instructions provided by the organiser.

    9. Changes to or cancellation of the event

The organiser reserves the right to make changes to the event schedule, programme, venue or other arrangements.

The organiser reserves the right to cancel the event, for example, due to safety concerns, official orders or other circumstances beyond the organiser’s control.

If the event is cancelled, the organiser will notify the sellers as soon as possible.

    10. Marketing and photography

Photographs and videos may be taken at the event for documentation and marketing purposes.

The seller’s name, company name, website or social media links, and the products they sell may be published in event communications and marketing if the seller has given permission for this.

The use of photos and other materials provided by the seller will be agreed separately in the application form.

    11. Compliance with instructions

The seller agrees to follow the organiser’s safety, venue, sales and other instructions.

The organiser has the right to intervene in activities that endanger the safety of the event, disturb other participants or visitors, or violate these terms.

    12. Privacy practices

The organiser will not use or disclose the applicant’s or seller’s personal data for direct marketing unless the participant has separately expressed a wish to subscribe to Heureka’s newsletter.

The personal data of applicants and sellers is processed for the purposes of handling applications, organising participation, communicating about the event and fulfilling other statutory obligations of the organiser.

The organiser’s privacy notice applies to the processing of personal data.

    13. Acceptance

By submitting an application, the applicant confirms that they have read these terms of participation.

A selected seller agrees to comply with these terms of participation and the organiser’s instructions concerning the event.

Participation is confirmed only once the organiser has informed the seller that they have been selected to participate and the seller has accepted the offered sales place.
