The human species has always built itself with the help of technology. Primitive tools, later writing and now digital systems have made all aspects of our lives easier. At the same time, they have moved memory, attention and thinking outside the body. Previously internal functions are increasingly externalized into material and cultural structures. The talk invites us to consider what this means for human well-being in the age of digital culture. When memory is stored in the cloud, interaction takes place through the user interface and algorithms fight for our attention, psychological balance is also built in a new way. Where is the line between useful externalization and psychological passivation?

NOX evenings for adults: a smart and fun evening at Heureka

Looking for something other than Netflix and the occasional doomscrolling for the evening? Did you know that Heureka also organizes theme nights for adults only? Welcome to the NOX evening at Heureka.

NOX events are science evenings aimed at adults. Each event has its own theme, which is explored during the evening. NOX evenings are organised twice a year. These are not half-baked after-work events, but genuinely thoughtfully curated evenings that combine current themes, high-quality programme content and a relaxed adult audience.

mies ja nainen kilistelevät kuplivaa.

NOX evening themes and catering

Each NOX science evening has a current theme, which is approached from several different perspectives. During the evening, you will hear expert speeches, watch a themed film and discuss together. You will also have the opportunity to tour the exhibitions in peace without crowds, get to know the world behind the scenes and participate in short presentations where researchers present their own current research.

Food and drink are also part of the evening: The science restaurant serves an evening meal built around the theme, and NOX drinks ensure that the atmosphere doesn't run dry. NOX is the answer to what many adults need: a space to think, ask questions, discuss and experience together.

Mies ja nainen lukevat näytöllä olevaa informaatiota Vesi - elämän virta -näyttelyssä.

Who are NOX evenings aimed at?

  • The adults' science evening (age limit 18+) event is designed for adults only.
  • Current theme. The content is suitable for curious people who want to delve deeper into the event's theme.
  • Combining science and interaction in a unique way. At NOX events you learn and discover new things by listening, discussing and doing.

Why attend a NOX evening?

  • You will gain more information and new perspectives without the traditional distinction between a lecture and a museum visit.
  • Experiential science combines with social networking and discussion.
  • The event has been carefully structured as a permanent program, organized approximately twice a year.

If you are looking for a smart community program that combines learning and experiences, this is for you. Welcome to Heureka - among adults!
