    On Saturday, November 29th from 10 am to 6 pm, we will be hosting a family event that is especially suitable for space fans and future astronauts. There will be interesting space-themed workshops and presentations.

Journey to Mars - audio adventure

Come experience a fun, interactive and immersive audio adventure! You set off on a journey to Mars as a group and your task is to try to overcome the challenges that arise during the journey and make decisions together. How will you perform - will you make it all the way to Mars?

One game can accommodate about 20 children. Children will be given headphones to wear during the game.

Recommended age: 7+
Duration: approximately 25 minutes.

Note: This game is for children only. Parents can watch from the sidelines.

Space-themed VR experience

Come and experience a realistic and inspiring space-themed VR experience. Duration 3 min.

The workshop is made possible by NOVA VRX .

Planet Enkel episode and workshop

How does an electric scooter move? Did people invent the electric motor just to save themselves from walking? Zet believes he knows the real reason for the invention. But an even more important question is whether you can drive a washing machine.

TV episode language and duration: presented in Swedish, subtitles in Finnish and English. Duration 10 min.

In addition, the Planet Enkel working group will organize a workshop. This non-stop workshop combines hands-on exploration of optics and liquid crystal display (LCD) technology. The workshop does not require watching the Planet Enkel episode.

    Train like an astronaut

    An astronaut's job requires good physical fitness, dexterity, and problem-solving skills. Come train like an astronaut and see if you can handle the challenges!

    Who in your family will shout "BINGO!" first? During the day, space-themed bingo will be played at the Science with a Ball attraction.

  • Satellite in space.

    Whistle Rocket

    Build your own whistle rocket and test its flight by blowing on a whistle. You'll also get to experience how wings affect the rocket's stability and flight distance.

    In addition, the workstation allows you to get acquainted with real miniature rockets and the activities of the Finnish Space Research Society .

    Paper rockets workshop

    At the Finnish Space Research Society's point, you can make paper rockets and fly them to great heights using air pressure.

    Recommended age: 9+
    Duration: 50 min

  • Shining full moon in a black sky.

    Moon Camp

    A return to the Moon is being planned again, and in the future a permanent base will be built on the Moon. At the Moon Camp workstation, you can contribute to this vision by building a small part of the lunar station. Each built part will be connected to a common whole, which will grow piece by piece in the hands of the participants.

    The workshop is implemented by ESERO Finland .

    Aalto University Junior Space Satellites

    Welcome to explore the activities of Aalto University Junior and space satellites. The center has cardboard satellite models the size of a real 1U cubesat, on which you can build antennas and suitable measuring devices if you wish.

    A tour of planets, moons, asteroids and comets presents our home planet in the light of current knowledge of the neighborhood. Dive into the giant canyon of Mars on a virtual flight, explore the lava fields of Io and the waves of Titan's methane lakes.

    Milky Way and exoplanets (15 min)

    Our home galaxy is a vast spiral of stars, dust and gas clouds. Thousands of planets orbiting other stars are already known, but little is known about them. This virtual tour will introduce you to our current understanding of how exotic and strange worlds exoplanets can be.

Solve the mystery of light

Are you a good code breaker? At the Southwest Finland LUMA Center and Skolresurs point, you can solve mysteries related to light. The point has tasks related to three different wavelength ranges of light. How many tasks can you solve and how many locks can you open?

Wonders of the starry sky at the Science Museum Liekki

Encounter space at the Science Museum Liekki Observatory exhibition point! You will get to touch a real piece of a meteorite that fell from space.

At the presentation point:

You will learn to identify the most famous constellations in the northern sky.

You will hear about guided tours and public events at the Observatory, which was completed on Helsinki's Tähtitorninvuori in 1834.
