Fibrations
The exhibition at Heureka’s Event Square showcases student works of the Aalto University interdisciplinary course Crystal Flowers in Halls of Mirrors: Mathematics Meets Art and Architecture. Various fibrations are central concepts especially in the field of algebraic topology in mathematics making systematic classification of complex structures possible. In the pieces these theoretical models intertwine with captivating portrayals of topics particularly from low-dimensional topology and geometry.

The exhibition illustrates concretely the interplay between science and visual expression while dispelling the myths often associated with mathematics. The students represented diversely the different schools of science and design at Aalto University, from bachelor to graduate levels. The students designed the pieces under the guidance of multidisciplinary group of teachers and implemented them with various fabrication techniques.
