When and for whom are the science camps organized for?

The summer 2026 science and space camps will be organized for elementary and secondary school students.

Camps in English:

  • Science Camps in English for Children born in the years 2013–2015 in weeks 27 and 28.

Camps in Finnish:

  • Science camps for those born between 2013 and 2018 in weeks 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 31 and 32.
  • Space camps for those born in 2013–2015 in weeks 25, 26, 27 and 31.
  • Camps for secondary school aged youth in weeks 27, 28 and 31.

What happens at summer holiday camps?

  • The Science Camps in English are five-day camps. At the camps, your child gets to jump into the inspiring world of science!
  • The camps are day camps and the program is organized from 10 am to 3 pm. There is no accommodation at the camps.
  • At science camps we experiment and do research in multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary programs. We enjoy discovering!
  • During the camp, all of Heureka's facilities, such as laboratories, workshops and the planetarium, are used in a variety of ways.
  • The programs for space campers are mostly different from those at a regular science camp.
  • The programs are both new and tested at winter holiday science camps, so those who have participated in science camps before can easily participate again.
  • The program for science camps and space camps is the same for all camps of different weeks.
  • The camps are organized in Finnish. The exception is the Science Camp in English for Children born in the years 2013–2015, which is organized in English.
  • Campers are offered a hot meal at the Science Restaurant.
  • During the camp, science campers have the right to be in the Heureka exhibitions until closing time.
  • In addition, in the mornings, campers can spend time independently in the exhibitions from 9-10 am.
  • On Mondays, the camp starts at 9:30 am with registration.
  • A camp letter with more detailed information will be sent by email to those who purchased tickets before the camp.

Note! All other camps are in Finnish except Science Camp in English for Children born in the years 2013–2015. We do not offer discounts for siblings.



You can purchase multiple science camp tickets at once (max 4).

Note: All campers' information must be filled out on the registration form at the time of purchase.

For the forms you will need the following information:

  • The child's allergies (including information on whether products that may contain an allergenic substance are suitable)
  • T-shirt size for the science camp shirt
  • Guardians' phone numbers, home and email addresses
  • Any special needs of children, such as challenges with social situations or behavior.


Advance information helps us make arrangements well in advance so that we can provide a good experience for all campers.

Campers are divided into groups according to age, but siblings and friends of different ages meet during breaks. If you would like children of almost the same age but born in different years to be in the same group, or a specific friend to be in the same group, please mention this on the registration form.

Where can I get more information about the science camp?

Closer to the start of the camp, you will receive an email with all the necessary information about the camp week. Please make sure that you provide a current email address when registering.

When can a camper come to Heureka?

  • The first day of camp begins with registration at 9:30-10 a.m. At this time, it is a good idea for the camper to have a guardian or someone who can present the QR code found on the camp ticket and answer any additional questions from the camp organizers, e.g. about allergies. There may be a queue at registration.
  • On the second day of camp, campers can come to Heureka at 9 am. Then, campers can spend time in the exhibitions before the camp program starts at 9-10 am, when the Heureka inspirer will be present. The science camp starts at 10 am.

Who does the camper arrive at Heureka with?

  • It is especially recommended that the youngest campers be accompanied by a guardian or an adult who knows the child on the first day, when the camp ticket must be presented.
  • Family members of campers can purchase discounted admission tickets for visits to Heureka on the days the camp ticket is valid.
  • Without a ticket, campers' companions can stay in the free area in the Heureka lobby.

What time does the camp day end?

  • The camp ends at 3 pm on all days.
  • After this, the camper can stay independently at Heureka's exhibitions until 6 pm.
  • When leaving Heureka, campers leave their name tag in their group's jar in the lobby.

How do I cancel my purchase?

Cancel your camp spot no later than 7 days before the start of the camp to the following address: asiakaspalvelu@heureka.fi .

After this, cancellation and refund can only be made against a medical certificate.

The camp is sold out - will tickets still be on sale?

Any cancelled seats will be available for sale in the ticket office. If you didn't manage to get your seat, it's worth keeping an eye on the ticket office!

Summer camps in Vantaa – easily accessible from Helsinki and Espoo

Heureka summer camps are week-long science and space camps that are organized for children of different ages throughout the summer. The camp day program is organized from 10 am to 3 pm. The summer camp is easy to get to from different parts of the Helsinki metropolitan area. Heureka is conveniently accessible using public transportation, by car, and by bike.

Things to do during summer vacation 2026

Heureka is open during the summer season 1.6.–9.8.2026, Monday–Friday 9 am–6 pm and Saturday–Sunday 10 am–6 pm.
