• Heureka's Winter Holiday Camps 2026: Science camps for curious children

    Is your child excited about learning new things, doing science experiments and thinking about the mysteries of space? Does your child feel comfortable in a lab coat and is Heureka one of their favorite destinations? If you answered yes to these questions and are looking for something for your primary school-aged child (born 2013–2018) to do during the winter holiday week 8, the answer can be found here: Heureka winter holiday camps 2026. Winter holiday science camps allow curious children to immerse themselves in the world of science.

    Note! The camps are in Finnish.

    Tickets go on sale Monday 15.12. at 2 pm. Ticket sales will end 11.2.2026 at 3 pm.

When and for whom are winter holiday camps organized?

Winter holiday camps in week 8 will be organized:

Mon-Tues 16.-17.2.2026 10 am – 3 pm

  • Science camp for those born 2013–2018
  • Space camp for those born 2016–2017


Thu-Fri 19-20.2.2025 10 am–3 pm.

  • Science camp for those born 2013–2018
  • Space camp for those born 2013–2015


Campers can spend time independently at Heureka's exhibitions 3pm – 6pm., and on Tuesdays and Fridays 9–10am.

What happens at winter holiday camps?

  • During the winter holiday science and space camps, you will experience six different multidisciplinary science programs that inspire you to explore and experiment over the course of two days.
  • All camps will watch a film in Heureka's renovated planetarium.
  • All camp programs are new.
  • The guided program is organized 10 am– 3 pm. On Mondays and Thursdays, the camp begins at 9.30 am with registration.
  • The camp program is similar for Mon-Tue and Thu-Fri camps.
  • Science camps and space camps are in Finnish.
  • Campers are offered a hot meal at the Science Restaurant
  • A camp letter with more detailed information will be sent by email to those who purchased tickets before the camp.

    Science Camps

    • At science camps, campers work in the laboratory, make reconstructions based on bone finds, code, explore the wonders of the Earth, try molecular gastronomy, and marvel at the chemistry of geysers.
    • Science camp groups are for 1st-6th graders and children are divided into three different groups according to their age level.

    Space Camps

    • Space camps introduce campers to space and their own solar system and its current phenomena through experimentation and research. At the camp, students marvel at galactic geysers in laboratory conditions, explore the Moon, and travel to Mars. In the molecular gastronomy workshop, they make ice cream like astronauts.


    Space camp groups are organized

    • Mon-Tue for 2nd-3rd graders
    • Thu-Fri for 4th-6th graders.

    Note! Children outside this age range will not be accepted into the groups.

How much are the tickets?

Tickets go on sale on Monday, 15.12 at 2 pm.

Price: €90 / two-day camp

You can purchase multiple camp tickets at once (max 4).

Note: All campers' information must be filled out on the registration form at the time of purchase.

For the forms you will need the following information:

  • The child's allergies (including information on whether products that may contain an allergenic substance are suitable)
  • Guardians' phone numbers, home and email addresses
  • Any special needs of children, such as challenges with social situations or behavior.


Advance information helps us make arrangements well in advance so that we can provide a good experience for all campers.

Campers are divided into groups according to age, but siblings and friends of different ages meet during breaks. If you would like children of almost the same age but born in different years to be in the same group, or a specific friend to be in the same group, please mention this on the registration form.

Winter holiday camps in Vantaa – easily accessible from Helsinki and Espoo

Heureka's winter holiday camps are two-day science camps that will be held: Mon–Tue 16.–17.2.2026 and Thu–Fri 19.–20.2.2026. The camp day program will be held 10am–3pm. The winter holiday camp is easy to get to from different parts of the Helsinki metropolitan area. Heureka can be easily reached using public transport, by car and by bike.

Things to do during winter holiday 2026

Heureka is open during the winter holiday weeks 8 and 9, Mon–Fri 9 am–6 pm and Sat–Sun 10 am–6 pm.

In week 8, after the camp days, children can stay in Heureka's exhibitions to explore and play until closing time, if they wish.

Quick tips for Heureka's winter holiday camps 2026


1) The first information about ticket sales for science and space camps will be in the Heureka newsletter , on social media and on this website. It is worth subscribing to the newsletter and following the social media channels to be among the first to receive the information.

2)        At Heureka's winter holiday camps, curious children can try out various science experiments in the laboratory and workshops. The winter holiday camps are aimed at primary school-aged children born between 2013 and 2018.

3)        Winter holiday science and space camps are two-day camps. This allows children to have a winter holiday that combines both guided experiences and free days.
