Nero the rat here, hello! I'm happy to hear that you're coming on a trip to Heureka. Here at Heureka, you'll get to play, experiment, and discover new things. And hey, if you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of me – because I live at Heureka!

Before the visit

Heureka is open almost every day
You can the exceptions to our opening hours hereI love it when you visit Heureka - that's why Heureka is open almost every day! We only close to recharge our batteries on Christmas Eve and on rare occasions.
Normally, I keep my doors open as follows:- Mon–Wed 10 AM–5 PM
- Thu–Fri 10 AM–8 PM
- Sat–Sun 10 AM–6 PM

Tickets can be purchased in advance online or on-site
Here you can find more information about prices and payment methodsIf you like to plan your family outings well in advance, you should buy Heureka tickets beforehand from the online store. Tickets for the same day can be purchased online until Heureka's opening time. Psst! Tickets are 3 euros cheaper online. Pretty nice, isn't it?
You can also buy tickets on-site; my colleagues at the information desk will be happy to help you!

By car, train or bike?
You can find more detailed arrival instructions hereHeureka's location is excellent: you can get here by any means of transport!
- From Helsinki city center, you can reach Tikkurila station in about 15 minutes, and from the airport in 10 minutes. From Tikkurila station, it's less than a 10-minute walk to Heureka.
- Heureka's parking lot is spacious and free, so it's nice to drive here too. You can find the parking lot by navigating to Kuninkaalantie 5, 01300 Vantaa.
- Bicycle racks can be found in front of Heureka, and there are nice outdoor recreational opportunities around Heureka. So, stop by here even during a bike trip!

Nero's exhibition tips
We currently have 7 exhibitions at Heureka. The exhibitions offer something for everyone, but I've gathered the best exhibition tips for children of different ages below. These are a great starting point!

Children under 7 years old
1) Play and explore. Welcome to play! Play is natural and essential for the well-being of us all. The exhibition explores the world through silliness, and this skill is worth practicing throughout life!
2) Giants of the Ice Age. In this extremely popular exhibition, you can dress up like people from the Ice Age, explore a cave, and admire large animal robots. Exciting and fun!
3) Water - the Stream of Life Come and explore water! In the exhibition, you can build dams and a flood-proof city. Fun, right?

For primary school aged children
1) Giants of the Ice Age The highly popular animals of the ice age amaze, and the exhibition texts teach new things about the animals.
2) Play and Explore. Who loses in the electric shock roulette and who bends the best? Whose car is the fastest, slowest, or coolest? Even primary school-aged children will enjoy the exhibition!
3) Our Journey in Space. At the space station of the future, you can perform various tasks of space professionals and take a picture of yourself as an astronaut.

For secondary school aged children
1) Giants of the Ice Age. The animals of the icea ge amaze people of all ages, and the exhibition texts offer plenty of in-depth information about the latest Ice Age.
2) Journey to Space. Through the exhibition texts and tasks, you can delve into what is currently happening in space research and what might happen in the future. A perfect choice for space fans!
3) Heureka Classics. The exhibition items invite you to discover and reflect on what really happens behind physical phenomena - why and how? And how do these phenomena manifest in everyday life?
Daily program and fun science shows
In addition to amazing exhibitions, here at Heureka we have real science wizards whose science shows are astounding, hilarious, and educational! Different programs are mostly organized weekends and during school holidays.
At the shows, you can meet my rat friends, admire amazing science tricks, perform laboratory experiments, and watch astonishing planetarium films. Below you can learn more about the shows.
Good to know! On weekends and school holidays seat reservations for the planetarium are made in advance at Heureka via the QR code displayed on the information screen in front of the planetarium.

During your visit: Welcome to Heureka!
I hope your visit goes well! The average visiting time at Heureka is about 4 hours, and many visitors spend the whole day with us. We hope you enjoy your visit too!
Tip! In the exhibitions, don't hesitate to pull on the sleeves of our guides – or inspirers, as we call them! – wearing their white guide jackets and ask for more information about the exhibitions. They are science experts from whom you are sure to learn a lot of new things!

When hunger strikes
Discover the selection and opening hours of the Science RestaurantThe Science Restaurant offers a rich and varied lunch daily, a delicious Science Snack Menu, and smaller savory and sweet treats to energize your science day!
You can also find a picnic area upstairs at Heureka. Access the area via the spiral stairs or by elevator next to the Giants of the Ice Age exhibition. The area includes a microwave, water point, recycling point, and restrooms. -

At Heureka Shop, you'll find science products suitable for all ages. The shop is located in the lobby, making it easy to pop in on your way out. -

How do I find my way around Heureka?
At Heureka, all exhibitions are on one floor, so you'll quickly learn where everything is!
- You'll recognize the exhibitions by their distinct visual look.
- The Planetarium is right next to the info.
- The Science Restaurant and the shop are located in the lobby.
Tip! In summer, access to the outdoor exhibition, the Science Park Galilei, is through the doors opposite the info desk.

- During autumn holiday week 42 and winter holiday week 8, Heureka annually organizes two-day science and space camps for primary school-aged children.
- During the school summer holiday weeks, five-day day camps are available for primary and secondary school-aged children.
I warmly recommend these camps: they are fun and entertaining, and at the same time, children learn new things. -
