Heureka is open (almost!) every day of the year
You can view our exceptions to opening hours by clicking here.Heureka is open Monday to Sunday, with the exception of Christmas Eve and possible rare exceptions. So mark your calendar for a visit date that suits you!
We are normally open:- Mon–Wed 10 am–5 pm
- Thu–Fri 10 am–8 pm
- Sat–Sun 10 am–6 pm

- Thursday evenings 3–8 p.m. Heureka is typically quieter on Thursday evenings, making it a great time for a visit with adults. Tickets on Thursday evenings are only €10.
- Extended Friday evenings in spring 2026. We are open until 8 pm on Fridays. Friday evenings are perfect times for, for example, date nights at Heureka.
- Evening events aimed at adults are organised a few times a year. During these events, exhibitions are open with a special programme and Heureka is a drinking area. You can view our event calendar by clicking here.
At other times, Heureka tickets are €3 cheaper when purchased in advance from the Heureka online store. Select the date of your visit and purchase your tickets. Same-day tickets can be purchased from the online store up until opening time.
Psst! Heureka is also a Museum Card item . - Thursday evenings 3–8 p.m. Heureka is typically quieter on Thursday evenings, making it a great time for a visit with adults. Tickets on Thursday evenings are only €10.

Plan the most convenient way to arrive at Heureka

- It takes about 15 minutes to get to Tikkurila station from the center of Helsinki and 10 minutes from the airport. From Tikkurila station, you can walk to Heureka in less than 10 minutes.
- Heureka's parking lot is spacious and free of charge, so arriving by car is easy. You can find the parking lot by navigating to Kuninkaalantie 5, 01300 Vantaa.
- Cycling is refreshing! There are bike racks in front of Heureka.
Exhibition tips
All 7 exhibitions at Heureka are also suitable for adults. In some exhibitions you will learn something new and in others you can throw yourself into the joy of play, which is also good for adults.

Learn and understand!
1) Heureka classics. The exhibition items also invite adults to learn and understand physics phenomena better. The comprehensive presentations of the exhibition items allow for in-depth study of the subject.
2) Giants of the Ice Age. The highly popular exhibition contains a wealth of information about the animals of the last ice age and the conditions of that time.
3) Our Journey in Space The exhibition provides information on current space activities and plans that are likely to be realized over the next 30 years.

Find your inner child
1) Tightrope cycling. Do you dare to pedal a bike at a height of 6.5 meters? The cable bike is safe but exciting!
2) Play and explore exhibition. Who will lose in the electric roulette and who has the best mobility? Whose hill car is the fastest, slowest or coolest? Challenge your friends to a playful (or serious) competitions at the exhibitions attractions!
3) Our Journey in Space. At the exhibition you can realize your childhood dream of becoming an astronaut. Try a moonwalk, destroy asteroids and take a picture as a space professional!

Romance for a date
1) Planetarium. Holding hands under the starry sky - what could be a more romantic date night?
2) Giants of the Ice Age. The exhibition is visually beautiful and you get to take a short, but atmospheric, walk among animals of the ice age.
3) Our AI miniexhibition. The two of you against artificial intelligence! At the miniature exhibition, you can work together as a team to challenge artificial intelligence in various games.
Today's program
In addition to exhibitions, Heureka organizes various science presentations, especially on weekends and during high seasons, which bring a touch of scientific wonders to your visit to Heureka.
During the shows, you can meet Heureka's beloved rats , admire the science theater , conduct laboratory experiments and watch amazing planetarium films. Below you can learn more about the different contents and see the program for the day of your visit.
Good to know! On weekends and during school holidays seat reservations to the planetarium are made on site at Heureka via the QR code displayed on the information screen in front of the planetarium.

When visiting our exhibitions it is worth tugging our guides - inspirers as we call them! - by the sleeves of their white guide jackets and ask for more information about the exhibitions. They are science experts from whom you will certainly learn a lot!

In case you get hungry
Discover the selection and opening hours of the Science RestaurantThe science restaurant offers a hearty and varied lunch every day, a delicious Science Snack Menu, and a small selection of salty and sweet treats to bring energy to the science day!
You will also find a snack area upstairs at Heureka. Access to the area is via a spiral staircase or by elevator next to the Giants of the Ice Age exhibition. The area has a microwave and dining tables. -

How to find what you're looking for in Heureka
All exhibitions at Heureka are located on one floor. You can recognize the exhibitions by their visual appearance. The planetarium is right next to the information desk, and the Science Restaurant and shop are located in the lobby.
In the summer, access to the outdoor exhibition, i.e. Galilei Science Park , is through the doors opposite the information desk.
