Important information for your Heureka visit in summer 2026

Last chance: The Giants of the Ice Age
You still have time to experience the hugely popular Giants of the Ice Age exhibition. The exhibition is open until August 30, 2026.
In the exhibition you will encounter almost twenty life-sized animal robots - including a mammoth and a saber-toothed cat. You can also dress up in ice age themed clothing and draw rock paintings. -
Summer opening hours 1.6.–9.8.2026
If you're looking for a quieter time for your summer visit, it's a good idea to arrive first thing in the morning or alternatively in the afternoon. However, please remember that ticket sales end one hour before closing time.

Mon–Fri 9 am–6 pm
Sat–Sun 10 am–6 pm.
Science continues outdoors in the summer
Admission to the Galilei Science Park is included in the price of the Heureka ticket during the summer. The park offers many different attractions, such as:
- A large xylophone that you can use to play your favorite songs.
- A wheelchair track where you can test how well you can move in a wheelchair through different levels, doors and thresholds.
- A human yo-yo where you can try being a yo-yo and fly high in the air.
Tip! Many of the park's attractions involve water. It's a good idea to pack a change of clothes so that your kids can safely explore the water-themed science attractions.

During the summer holidays, Heureka offers various public performances every day. By clicking here, you can check out the program for your visit in advance!
- At the rat feeding shows, you can get to know Heureka's beloved domestic rats,

- In science theater performances, you can marvel at the amazing science tricks performed by the inspirer.

You can easily spend an entire summer day at Heureka. The average visit time is about 4 hours.

Tickets and prices
You can buy Heureka tickets in advance for €3 less from the online store. The Heureka ticket includes all exhibitions, programs and planetarium films.
In advance from the online store (tickets for the current day can be purchased from the online store until Heureka's opening time and then on site):

- €16/children + youth (5–17 years)
- €16/students, unemployed, pensioners and conscripts*
- €0/children under 5 years old.

What should you bring with you to visit Heureka?
You don't need to bring anything special with you to visit Heureka - all you need is a curious mind!
- You are allowed to bring your own snacks and can eat them in the snack area upstairs. The snack area is accessed via a spiral staircase or elevator, which can be found next to the Giants of the Ice Age exhibition .
- It is a good idea to wear comfortable clothes to Heureka so that it is as comfortable as possible to try out the functional sites, such as the Moon Walk site in the Our Journey in Space exhibition.
- The Science Park Galilei has lots of fun attractions that include water. A change of clothes is a good idea in case you get wet!
What ages is Heureka suitable for?
Heureka is suitable for all ages. There is plenty to do for both children and adults, so you can visit Heureka with the whole family or just among adults. Here are a few age recommendations and restrictions that are good to know before visiting:
- The age limit for the planetarium is 5 years. The Stellars - Mission: Green planetarium film is especially recommended for children aged 5–10 and the Asteroid Quest planetarium film is recommended for those over 10.
- The Play and Explore exhibition is especially suitable for the youngest members of the family.
- The Moonwalk attraction in the Our Journey in Space exhibition has a height limit of 140–210 cm and a weight limit of 30–150 kg.
Toilets and childcare facilities
- The childcare facilities is located in the entrance hall behind the coat racks. The toilets are also located in the same area.
- Toilets are also available in the corridor behind the spiral staircase next to the Giants of the Ice Age exhibition and in the snack area upstairs. The snack area is accessible via the spiral staircase or by elevator.
Dining and shopping
- The Science Restaurant offers a hearty lunch, a delicious Science Snack Menu, and smaller savory and sweet snacks every day.
- Heureka Shop is located in the lobby. You will find the best science gifts and souvenirs from your visit to Heureka.

Summer Science Camps 2026

Heureka's summer holiday camps are organized for primary and secondary school children. Tickets are on sale until 2 p.m. the Wednesday before the start of the chosen camp or until the camp is sold out.

An ice cream kiosk is open in front of Heureka every day from 10 am to 7 pm, and in Galilei Science Park you can buy snacks from the Snack kiosk from 10 am to 4 pm.
Heureka also has a snack area if you bring your own snacks. -
